Girl In The Window

Image

girl in the window

each day she looks out

on the streets she once knew

will he come today

will I taste his honeyed kiss

whispering of love?

he, remembering

the touch of my hot hot skin

the smell of my hair?

or will he be cold

averting his deep blue eyes

is his heart still mine?

has she replaced me

his mind deep in thoughts of her

will he stay awhile?

or will I lose him

like flowers will I fade

will I mourn today?

Summer Heat

Image

summer

rising as a dream

from cement streets

slowly wrapping itself

around rusted pipes and rails

climbs

silently

passing the old brown screen

in my little room.

then comes

winding around me

as a lover would

it drifts

heat consumes my dreams

I awake, not to a lovers embrace

soaked not from a lovers touch.

drenched in it’s scent

of an unwanted quest

my dreams disburse

lovers gone

left now only with summer’s gift

as it touches me, my body slick with sweat.

eyes open to a fogy mind

still filled with tiny wisps of

other places, other dreams.

slowly my eyes clear

I am here in a room, small and ugly

my room that brings each night

lovers aplenty.

Carpe Diem #94

love

delicate as butterfly wings

live but a day

so too our desires

delicate feelings

soon fade and die

Late At Night

Image

still, late at night

she could hear his voice

feel his touch

the scent of jasmine

lingering musk

that once covered them both

alone in a cold, cold room

they once shared

she sat waiting

as she had waited

so many nights before

for him to take her home

Haiku

pale cold light

spun quicksilver

on glossimer seas

moon tides ebb and flow

as men’s hearts

ride the luminous waves

A Child’s Nightmare

behind our eyes

darkness lurks

the dreams of children

trapped between

a blink in time
